A delivery driver was carjacked last night on the same block as Amazon’s HQ2.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m. on the 500 block of 14th Street S. in Pentagon City. Police say the driver tried to chase down his car after the suspect hopped in the idling vehicle and started driving away, but the suspect drew a gun and drove off.
Arlington County police are still looking for the suspect and the stolen car, a 2010 Hyundai Accent.

CARJACKING, 2024-12180181, 500 block of 14th Street S. At approximately 5:58 p.m. on December 18, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim, who was operating as a delivery driver, was returning to his idling vehicle when the male suspect entered the vehicle and drove away. At the intersection of S. Eads Street and 14th Street S., the victim approached the stolen vehicle on foot and verbally confronted the suspect who then brandished what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene southbound on S. Eads Street in the stolen vehicle. No injuries were reported. There is no suspect description. The stolen vehicle is described as a green 2010 Hyundai Accent with Virginia license plate AFA9802. The investigation is ongoing.
