Arlington County police are looking for suspects in a pair of robberies that happened just before the Christmas holiday.
The first happened in the Long Branch Creek neighborhood around 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, and involved two teens — one reportedly armed with a gun — who robbed another teen in the “shared common area of a residential building.”

ROBBERY, 2024-12230141, 2300 block of 26th Court S. At approximately 6:08 p.m. on December 23, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the juvenile male victim was inside a shared common area of a residential building when he was approached by the two juvenile male suspects, who are known to him. Suspect One brandished what appeared to be a firearm before the suspects stole the victim’s bag and fled the scene. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. Petitions were sought for Suspect One for Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. A petition was sought for Suspect Two for Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
Also in the crime report, a business on the 1100 block of S. George Mason Drive — a block along Columbia Pike that includes a 7-Eleven store — was robbed by a man who threatened an employee with a knife and stole cash.
ROBBERY, 2024-12240003, 1100 block of S. George Mason Drive. At approximately 12:31 a.m. on December 24, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business, went behind the counter, and threatened an employee with a knife. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from two cash registers and merchandise before fleeing the scene in a black sedan. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’8”, wearing all black clothing, a hat and face covering. The investigation is ongoing.
