A delivery driver is behind bars after police say he accosted a woman and masturbated in front of her while on the job.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday along Columbia Pike in the Arlington Mill neighborhood.
Initially reported to police as an attempted rape, it was later determined that a man delivering packages inappropriately touched a woman and then exposed himself before leaving the scene.
About 20 minutes after the first dispatch, officers located the unmarked, white delivery van with Oklahoma plates nearby, at the intersection of the Pike and Four Mile Run Drive, and pulled it over. The 21-year-old driver was arrested and now faces several charges.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2025-01230141, 4900 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 3:11 p.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined approximately 10 minutes prior, the female victim was inside a stairwell of a residential building when the male suspect, who was delivering packages in the building at the time of the incident, entered, approached her and allegedly touched her inappropriately before exposing himself. The suspect subsequently exited the building and fled the scene in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. Four Mile Run Drive and Columbia Pike and subsequently took the suspect into custody. [The suspect], 21, of Upper Marlboro, Md. was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure, Assault and Battery and Public Masturbation. He was held without bond.
