Girl Scout cookie season is approaching, and soon there will be a whole lot of them in Arlington and Falls Church.
At publication time, least 16 cookie booths are planned across the county, with at least six more in the Little City. They’ll appear on sidewalks outside local grocery stores, apartment buildings and more, beginning Friday, Feb. 7 and continuing through mid-March.

Nine cookies will be available next month, including classic Thin Mints, Trefoils and Do-si-dos, in addition to Girl Scout S’mores — 13,000 boxes of which arrived safely in Alexandria this week, despite the bitter cold.
This is the last year to find Girl Scout S’mores, as the flavor retires next year, a representative of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital told ARLnow.
Arlington is home to over 2,000 Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts in Arlington and Falls Church belong to the Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital, a regional council encompassing over 76,000 Girl Scouts and 3,348 troops.
The council sold 4.6 million boxes of cookies last season, raising $4.4 million.
Proceeds from cookies sold help sponsor Girl Scouts troop programming, community service projects and other local nonprofits.
