Large, underground youth baseball and hockey center opens in Clarendon

Months in the making, a 22,000-square-foot youth sports complex in Clarendon is now open.

Corobus Sports is equipped with training facilities for baseball, softball and ice hockey. Part of The Crossing Clarendon, the underground center has opened at 2800 Clarendon Blvd, where Jumping Joeys closed in 2021, owner Henry White confirmed to ARLnow.

Corobus Sports has batting cages and synthetic ice

  • Two synthetic ice-skating areas with goal nets and shooter tutor guides take up about 3,500 square feet.
  • Turf batting cages are available for baseball and softball practice. Two of these feature HitTrax simulator technology.
  • A strength and conditioning gym near the parent lounge includes free weights, squat racks and cardio machines.

It offers lessons with professional coaches

  • Sports lessons for ages 5 through 18 are available Monday through Friday, in both small group and private settings.
  • Coaching partners include Northern Virginia-based Gold Glove Academy and Elite Hockey Science in Reston.
  • The underground space can accommodate up to two baseball teams and one hockey team at a time, White said.

Rentals and events are also available

  • Turf lanes are available to rent by the hour. Stick and shoot appointments for hockey can be booked online, starting at $20.
  • Monthly and annual memberships for individuals and families offer discounts on training packages and other perks.
  • The complex is open from 2-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Sunday.
