Yorktown ice-hockey club loses two, earns forfeit in recent action

The Yorktown High School club ice-hockey team has lost two of its last three matches, sandwiched between a forfeit victory over Flint Hill.

Yorktown lost to Madison by a 4-1 score as Peyton Tien scored the team’s lone goal. It was assisted by Henry Dwyer and Roger Allenbaugh.

The second loss was 6-3 to Battlefield. Yorktown led 2-1 on two goals by Allenbaugh, one off a pass from Bennett Haas. Dwyer added Yorktown’s third goal. Other assists went to Alex Olsen and Logan McGraw. Goalie Brendan Thompson made 20 saves.

The rest of the Yorktown lineup against Battlefield included Tien, Stewart Bream, Andrew Olsen, Jamie Hardie, Matthew Hamrick, Carter Dunn, Will O’Sullivan, Andrew Levine, Benson Kluger, Will Schryver, Peyton Dunn, John Chistolini and Gunnar Obitts.

With a 6-3 record, Yorktown is still on track to make the playoffs in the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League. Its final regular-season match is Friday, Feb. 7 against Oakton.
