Compass Coffee opens at former Peet’s spot in Clarendon

A Compass Coffee location opened in Clarendon over the weekend, filling the vacancy left by Peet’s Coffee last fall.

The D.C.-based coffee shop, which is now serving springtime drinks, is open at 3003 Washington Blvd, where Peet’s closed permanently in November.

This is the cafe’s fifth Arlington location

  • Four other spots are located in Rosslyn, in Ballston and on Langston Blvd. The cafe most recently opened a second Ballston location in September.
  • Compass’ weekday hours in Clarendon are 6 a.m.-6 p.m. On weekends, the cafe is open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • “We got our start in D.C., but we absolutely love Virginia, and Clarendon has been on our wish list for a while,” District Manager Jessica Hubbard said in a release. “It’s a fun, lively neighborhood that’s a perfect match for our upbeat, energetic vibe.”

It’s serving a colorful new spring menu

  • Compass’ cherry blossom-inspired offerings include a cold brew, latte and coffee blend, available for purchase in-store.
  • Other seasonal drinks include a new lavender matcha, mint cold brew and hibiscus sunrise.
  • The shop also offers breakfast sandwiches and grab-and-go snacks.
