South Arlington featured in upcoming season finale of WETA’s ‘If You Lived Here’

The spotlight is on South Arlington in an upcoming episode of WETA’s local real estate television series, “If You Lived Here,” which airs next week.

The episode and season finale showcases three homes in the Four Mile Run area and in the Fairlington and Claremont neighborhoods. Part of the series’ fourth season exploring D.C.-area homes, the episode premieres this Monday, March 24.

ARLnow got a sneak peek of the show, where hosts Jen Osborn and Ricardo Frederick Evans tour a condominium, a townhome and a single-family home — the priciest of which is well over $1 million.

Osborn and Evans begin in downtown Shirlington to discuss South Arlington’s perks and affordability with realtor Kay Houghton, before heading to The Carlton, a high rise condominium building on S. Four Mile Run Drive.

Located off Columbia Pike, The Carlton was constructed in 1965 and is now home to over 500 condominium units. Osborn and Evans look at a two-bedroom, one-bath unit, with just over 1,000 square feet of space.

The hosts then head to Fairlington to look at a two-bedroom, two-bath townhome on S. Buchanan Street. The historic neighborhood was constructed by the government after Pearl Harbor as defense workers flocked to the area to participate in World War II efforts.

According to Houghton, the 1,689-square-foot townhome retained its original 1944 wood floors and brick exterior, while the interior received renovations over the years.

The duo ends the show touring a 2,800-square-foot single family home on Chesterfield Road in Claremont. The two-story home includes five beds, three-and-a-half baths and a double-sided fireplace, with an open concept design.

This is the fourth time “If You Lived Here” has filmed in Arlington. WETA, a public broadcasting station in Shirlington, has previously hosted episodes on Columbia Pike, in Rosslyn and in North Arlington.

The season finale of “If You Lived Here” airs at 8 p.m. Monday on WETA Metro and at 9 p.m. on WETA PBS. It may also be streamed on the PBS app or on the WETA website.
