Catboat Pizza Bar plans seasonal reopening on Potomac waterfront

With warmer days ahead, an outdoor pizza restaurant and wine bar on the Potomac River waterfront will soon make its seasonal return.

Catboat Pizza Bar plans to reopen next month at the Washington Sailing Marina in Alexandria, offering fresh pizza, drinks and lawn games with picturesque views. It will be the restaurant’s second season on the water at 1 Marina Drive.

Catboat returns Thursday, April 10

  • The outdoor restaurant offers pizza by the slice, Caesar salad, Italian sandwiches and light bites, along with beer, wine and boozy slushies.
  • The bar plans to offer a new lineup of beer and wine this season, in addition to new slushie options, co-owner Max Zuckerman told ARLnow.
  • “We’re excited to get back open, and hopefully it’ll be another nice summer,” Zuckerman said.

It has new indoor seating

  • The restaurant can now accommodate about 50 customers indoors, in addition to its on patio, outdoor picnic benches and large lawn nearby.
  • During the season, Catboat is open weekly from Thursday to Sunday until October.
  • Now through the end of cherry blossom season, Catboat is also serving drinks and slushies at a Tidal Basin pop-up bar in D.C.
