A Japanese-themed plushie arcade is coming to Pentagon City’s mall

A Japanese-inspired arcade with plush toy prizes is coming to the Pentagon City mall in a couple months.

With games, claw machines and Japanese toys and anime figurines for sale, Arcade company Gatcha plans to open this June at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, a mall representative told ARLnow.

It’ll have a ‘Clawcade’

  • Guests can “capture popular plush at the Clawcade, play a favorite game at the Arcade and visit the Gatcha Shop for the purchase of large plush, anime figures and tons of blind boxes,” the representative said.
  • The arcade will also feature several “dispensing machines that give a small token or collectible in a capsule.”
  • Some of Gatcha’s other locations feature indoor playground spaces and host kids’ birthday parties.

Gatcha is growing

  • Since its 2021 founding in Orlando, Fla., the arcade has expanded into New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
  • The Pentagon City location is slated to open in a vacant space across from Panda Express on the Metro level.
