Adoptable Pet of the Week: Jazzy

A two-year-old lab named Jazzy, who loves snuggling on the couch and sharing loving glances with her owners, is available for adoption at Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.

She’s a small lab mix — around 35 pounds — and is absolutely as adorable as she is friendly.

“Beautiful Jazzy spent most of her young life in a shelter, so she had a lot to learn about life on the outside, but after gaining trust in her foster, she blossomed into a happy, loving and loyal companion,” her foster said. “She enjoys snuggling on the couch with her fosters and long belly rubs – she expresses her gratitude with loving glances and frequent kisses.”

Her adoption profile said Jazzy does well with other dogs and would benefit from going to a home with a welcoming resident dog, adding that she has also lived with cats and done well.

The profile said households with children under 12 years old should be more cautious before considering Jazzy, because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of noise or energy.

“This happy young girl wants nothing more than to trot through the world with confidence, but right now she hasn’t had enough experience in new places,” the profile said. “She’s looking for extra loving and patient humans who will show her the world at her pace, and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog. Ultimately, she wants sniffy walks, romps in local parks, and all the adventures her family can dream up!”

The foster said Jazzy has been becoming more sociable.

“She loves her walks around the neighborhood and is not leash reactive,” the foster said. “She did well with housebreaking and is extremely food motivated. She’s also a good listener, so she corrects easily.”

The adoption fee for Jazzy is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, vaccinations and neuter/spay Those interested in adopting should fill out a questionnaire online.

“She has come a long way in just a few short weeks,” the foster said. “It’s a joy to behold, and I know her adopter will be excited to continue to show her how transformative love can be!”
