The Clarendon Ballroom debuts renovated rooftop with seasonal pop-up decor

A colorful new look and refreshments have arrived for the summer on The Clarendon Ballroom’s rooftop.

The three-level bar and events venue recently renovated its rooftop — renamed “The Deck” — with latticework, more seating and summery, Mediterranean-inspired decor and food. It is the first pop-up theme in what the Ballroom team hopes to make a rotating series throughout the year.

“Taking an escape that’s not necessarily needing your passport, is kind of what we thought,” Events Director Steffani Jiroux told ARLnow. “[It adds] some brightness to the area.”

Happy hour includes gyros

  • A new rooftop happy hour includes $4 watermelon feta skewers, $5 gyros and $6 lamb meatball sliders, as well as classic bar fare like mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders for $5.
  • Beverage deals include $5 margaritas, shooters and canned beers, as well as $6 well drinks, drafts and seltzers.
  • Happy hour is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 3-9 p.m. on Saturday and 3-10 p.m. on Sunday.

Weekly giveaways and new seasonal themes to come

  • The Ballroom is currently planning for an Oktoberfest beer garden roof and festival this fall, along with a potential ski chalet theme this winter.
  • Throughout the summer, customers can enter an online drawing to win a rooftop cabana reservation with free menu samplers or a $100 happy hour tab with 50% off.
