Three people are in jail after police say a man was beaten, robbed and threatened with machetes in two separate incidents.
The alleged incidents took place over the weekend just hours apart, on the same block of Columbia Pike, near the intersection with S. Four Mile Run Drive.
After the second incident early Sunday morning, three people ages 18 to 29 were tracked down and arrested. They’re now facing charges ranging from malicious wounding by mob to robbery to branding a machete.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 2025-08160208/2025-08170023, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 11:43 p.m. on August 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the male suspect, who is known to him, and four additional male suspects who allegedly assaulted him, struck him with a bat and stole his wallet before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. At approximately 2:07 a.m. on August 17, the victim returned to the area when three of the suspects involved in the prior incident exited a vehicle and approached him. The suspects brandished what appeared to be machetes and made threatening statements. The victim ran away from the scene and called police. Upon police arrival, officers located two suspects at the scene and a third suspect near Four Mile Run Trail and took them into custody. During the course of the investigation, two machetes and two bats were recovered.
