Police are conducting a death investigation along Four Mile Run after a body was found this afternoon.
Arlington County police responded to a wooded area near the intersection of Columbia Pike and S. Four Mile Run Road around 2:15 p.m., after someone reported finding a body near the creek.
ACPD later confirmed that an adult male had been found and an investigation was underway. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, there is no apparent ongoing threat to the community related to this investigation,” ACPD spokesperson Ashley Savage said.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.
Police posted on social media Thursday night that a man missing since Saturday, from an address near where the body was found, was “sadly… presumably located deceased earlier today.”
“Preliminarily, no foul play [is] suspected,” police said.
