A new dining promotion is bringing autumnal dishes including pumpkin-flavored pancakes, pasta and cocktails to Ballston starting next week.
At least 13 restaurants are participating in Pumpkin Palooza, a new dining punch card program hosted by the Ballston Business Improvement District. Participants must try six eligible menu items at Ballston restaurants by Nov. 6 to qualify for a fall mug giveaway.
A range of fall flavors are planned at featured eateries, including apple butter oatmeal cookie-flavored ice cream at Ice Cream Jubilee and pumpkin pancakes, muffins and cafe drinks at Olive Lebanese Eatery.
Punch cards will be available for pick up during a kick-off celebration from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., next Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Ballston Quarter. Participants can also receive a card at any of the participating restaurants.
The event will feature live music, a Bachata dance class, fall decoration photo ops and free candy from the Ballston BID. Bash Boxing and the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute will also host tables with information about their services in addition to potential giveaways or specials.
The Ballston BID will exchange completed punch cards for fall mugs while supplies last during the Ballston Mega Market from 3-7 p.m. on Nov. 6 at 901 N. Taylor Street.
“Ballston is a dining destination, and we wanted to create a seasonal event to celebrate our restaurants and bring people together,” Ballston BID CEO Danette Nguyen told ARLnow. “Pumpkin Palooza does just that — combining local flavor, activities, and neighborhood connection during the holidays.”
Participants’ purchases may also go toward the BID’s Open Rewards program, a 10% cash back program affiliated with several local businesses and restaurants.
