While Arlington residents have not been able to put away their lawnmowers for the winter quite yet, the growing season has already ended for points well west of here.
The growing season ends with the first freeze, which on average happens around Nov. 9 in the immediate D.C. area, according to Axios. As of today, there are no below-freezing expected lows on the NWS seven-day forecast for Arlington.
The growing season has ended for most of central/northern VA, eastern WV, & western MD as temps fell below freezing this morning. The growing season continues further east with temps set to fall close to freezing outside the immediate city centers tonight.https://t.co/deYsRTrBT9. pic.twitter.com/dAZlUBa3SX
