JUST IN: Police announce arrest after tobacco shop robbery and stabbing

A 21-year-old man is behind bars after police say he robbed the same tobacco shop in Virginia Square multiple times.

Arlington County police made the announcement early Thursday afternoon. Police say the suspect robbed the store — understood to be the Tobacco Hut at 3528 Wilson Blvd — and stabbed an employee last month, resulting in serious injuries.

An investigation also revealed that the suspect robbed the store on multiple previous occasions, including at least once while armed with a gun, but those were not reported to police, according to ACPD.

More, below, from a press release.

The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is announcing the arrest of a suspect in a series of robberies at an Arlington County tobacco shop. Tyjuan Bullock, 21, of No Fixed Address is charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Robbery (x4) and Attempted Robbery. He is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.

At approximately 6:58 p.m. on September 11, police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard for the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, went behind the counter and began collecting merchandise. An employee confronted him and a physical altercation ensued during which the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the employee, resulting in several lacerations. The suspect then exited the store and fled the scene on foot. The employee suffered serious injuries and was treated at an area hospital and later released.

While on scene investigating the stabbing, officers identified additional unreported incidents involving the same suspect. On June 17, the suspect entered the business, produced a firearm and fled the scene with stolen merchandise. On August 21, the suspect entered the business, went behind the counter, threatened and pushed an employee and fled the scene with stolen merchandise. On August 24, the suspect entered the business, went behind the counter, threatened an employee and fled the scene with stolen merchandise. Additionally, detectives determined the suspect was involved in an incident on November 5, 2024, in which he entered the business, went behind the counter, threatened an employee and fled the scene with stolen merchandise.

Detectives conducted a thorough criminal investigation which led to the identification of the suspect. Warrants were obtained for the suspect’s arrest and he turned himself into police on October 28, 2025.

This remains an active investigation and anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Arlington County Police Department’s tip line at 703-228-4180 or [email protected].
