ARLnow launches new system for submitting public notices

ARLnow is now using Column, an industry-standard tech platform, to handle public notice submissions.

The new system replaces a more rudimentary process that did not allow for account creation, notice templates and publication previews. We have also significantly lowered the price of most notice submissions and are no longer charging extra for invoicing.

Government agencies, businesses, and organizations can now upload notices directly through Column’s platform, track their submissions, and get confirmation when notices go live.

Public notices keep Arlington residents informed about permit applications, zoning changes, public hearings, legal proceedings, and other official matters, though before state law was changed last year only print newspapers could publish them. ARLnow hopes to bring more notices to our site, making it easier for local residents to find those that are relevant to them.

Going above and beyond legal requirements, ARLnow plans to briefly summarize and link to the first publication of each notice. For now, those links are being placed in our Morning Notes posts. We also offer a premium placement option for publishing the full notice on our homepage, in addition to the public notice section.

Organizations looking to submit a public notice can access the new system via the button below or in the menu bar above. We are also publishing notices for Alexandria and Fairfax County via our sister sites ALXnow and FFXnow.
