Sweet Leaf Cafe plans first drive-thru location in Falls Church

A Northern Virginia-based cafe selling sandwiches, salads and smoothies has set its sights on Falls Church for its newest location and its first drive-thru.

Sweet Leaf Cafe is coming to 603 W. Broad Street, the former location of a drive-thru Smoothie King. According to the business, this is the first new Sweet Leaf to open in five years.

It’s aiming for a summer opening

  • McLean-based Sweet Leaf Cafe offers a wide menu of protein-loaded salads like Greek Garden (with chicken breast, cucumber and cherry tomato), Steak Taco (with roasted corn, pico de gallo and cotija cheese) and Citrus Sesame Chicken.
  • It also serves grain bowls in varieties like Havana Chicken and Salmon Santorini, and sandwiches with meats like turkey, ham and chicken breast.
  • “Whether you’re rolling through the drive-thru or hanging out, we can’t wait to welcome you to Sweet Leaf in the [Little] City of Falls Church,” the company wrote on its website.

Sweet Leaf has locations throughout the region

  • Sweet Leaf Cafe dates back to 2009, when the owners turned a former ice cream shop into their first location in McLean.
  • The business has other locations in Ballston at 650 N. Quincy Street and Courthouse at 2200 Wilson Blvd, as well as in McLean, Reston, Vienna and downtown D.C.
  • The local chain prides itself on ingredients without additives, using local sourcing when possible.
