New ‘high-end salon’ from hairstylist duo plans Courthouse opening next month

A pair of experienced hairstylists who used to work together in Clarendon are reuniting to open a new salon in Courthouse.

Crafted Boutique Salon is aiming to open by March 1 at 2300 Clarendon Boulevard, in Courthouse Plaza, stylists Baylie Madaj and Katy Felice told ARLnow.

Madaj, a stylist with more than 20 years of experience, specializes in haircuts, while Felice brings 15 years of experience to her hair coloring services. They worked together for several years at Casals Salon Collective in Clarendon until that business closed in 2024.

As a salon collective, the business has a few other stylists on board.

“Staying together as a team was important to us,” Madaj and Felice told ARLnow. “We shared a vision of creating a space where stylists can grow independently while still feeling supported, connected, and part of a team. Our goal is to build a high-end salon environment that feels inspiring for stylists and relaxing for clients — a cozy place where everyone feels comfortable, and welcomed.”

Keeping the business within Arlington was essential to the stylists, as they’ve built up their clientele there. The leased space is within the walkable plaza, a short distance to the Courthouse Metro station.

“We love the walkability of the neighborhood and being close to the Metro, making it easily accessible for our guests,” said Madaj and Felice. “We’re especially excited to become part of the Courthouse neighborhood and all that it has to offer.”

The co-owners expect to have a ribbon cutting celebration to mark the opening.

Across the sidewalk from Crafted, a 1,500-square-foot retail bay formerly occupied by Silk Salon & Nails remains listed for lease.
