This April, Arlington will host founders from around the world working in cybersecurity, aerospace and dual-use technologies who are considering where to expand in the U.S.
Through its Arlington Tech Launchpad, Arlington Economic Development (AED) is welcoming 25 high-potential global security companies for a three-day immersion program designed to introduce them to the U.S. market and to Arlington’s growing innovation ecosystem. The goal is to turn a short visit into long-term economic impact.
The program connects founders with national security and industry leaders, local startups, universities and research institutions already active in Arlington. For many participants, it’s their first in-depth look at the U.S. market and a key moment in deciding where to locate, hire and invest.
“Arlington isn’t just a place to visit, it’s a place to build,” said Michael Stiefvater, Director of Business Investment with Arlington Economic Development. “We’re helping global founders form real connections that can lead to jobs, partnerships and growth locally.”
The 2026 launchpad builds on a year of expanded international outreach by AED. In 2025, AED connected with more than 100 founders across over 40 countries, hosted 40 companies exploring U.S. expansion and delivered 30 hands-on sessions and ecosystem events tied to DC Startup & Tech Week and Capital Capital Dual-Use.
Programs like Arlington Tech Launchpad help attract new investment, support job creation in high-growth sectors and strengthen Arlington’s position as a hub for security-focused innovation.
AED is now accepting applications for the Global Security Tech Launchpad 2026, with just 25 companies being selected. Industry partners, universities, investors and globally connected organizations are encouraged to share this opportunity with founders in their networks.
