Two Virginia ABC stores, one in Crystal City and one just off of Langston Blvd, are closing their doors.
The first is expected to close in February and the other will close in March.
The last day for the liquor store at 320 23rd Street S. in Crystal City is Feb. 14, Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority spokesperson Pat Kane told ARLnow.
“The Virginia ABC Board of Directors voted in December to consolidate store 215 in Arlington as there are already several Virginia ABC stores in the vicinity,” Kane said. The closest locations are about 1.5 miles away, at 1301 S. Joyce Street in Aurora Highlands and 2955 S. Glebe Road in Long Branch Creek.
Another ABC store at 2507 N. Harrison Street, in the Yorktown neighborhood’s Lee Harrison Shopping Center, has signage indicating it will permanently close on March 14. Customers are directed to the next closest location, also 1.5 miles away at 4709 Langston Blvd in the Old Dominion neighborhood.
An employee in the Lee Harrison store referred questions to Virginia ABC.
After these locations close, there will be seven Virginia ABC locations in Arlington County.
