A fender bender and subsequent dispute between drivers ended with one of them down and injured in the middle of a busy intersection at rush hour.
The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Washington Blvd and Langston Blvd in Arlington’s East Falls Church neighborhood.
Police say the drivers of a pickup truck and an SUV started arguing after a minor crash near the intersection. The SUV driver then “exited his vehicle and approached the pickup truck and a verbal dispute ensued, during which the driver of the SUV sustained injuries,” according to an Arlington County police spokeswoman.
“The circumstances that preceded the injuries remains under active investigation,” said ACPD’s Ashley Savage.
The incident and the emergency response to it — initially dispatched as a hit-and-run — caused significant evening rush hour delays at the busy intersection.
