An indoor golf training center is hosting open houses this week as it prepares to open near Ballston.
The Golf Yards, a 24/7 “golf performance club” located in Three Ballston Plaza at 1100 N. Glebe Road, is hosting drop-in tours this week and temporarily waiving its initiation fee — normally $1000 for an individual, or $1500 for a family plan — as it seeks to welcome its first members.
“To ensure an elite, uncrowded training environment for our players, we will be strictly capping our membership — so those interested shouldn’t wait,” a spokesperson told ARLnow.
The business is marketed as a year-round training environment for players serious about improving their game. Plans start at $299 per month, providing golfers with access to tour-grade Trackman simulators, Wellputt putting technology, an indoor short game area and a gym.

“After years of training on a private simulator, I realized that true game improvement requires more than just hitting into a screen,” co-founder Kevin Kuntz said. “I was looking for a dedicated space with a real short game area, tour-grade putting and elite analytics, and nothing in the area met that standard.”
At just under 13,000 square feet, The Golf Yards provides offices and a lounge in addition to training areas. It’s intended to assist dedicated golfers in “breaking through a performance plateau” by giving a space to practice even in bad weather, at any time of day.
The facility also promises coaching from Peak Golf Institute, providing golf lessons, performance training and evaluations.
“Our vision is to revolutionize the way amateur golfers practice by removing the off-season entirely,” said co-founder David Stillman. “The Golf Yards represents the future of indoor performance, providing you with unfiltered access to the exact same groundbreaking technology the pros use.”
Drop-in tours are taking place tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 p.m.
