A 25-year-old man is being held without bond after an assault along Columbia Pike that left another man with serious injuries.
A patrol officer was flagged down around 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Columbia Pike and S. Dinwiddie Street, on the border of the Columbia Forest and Arlington Mill neighborhoods, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
The victim was sitting in the area when a man he knows walked up and assaulted him, police said. His injuries were serious but not life-threatening, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The victim was bleeding heavily when police arrived on the scene, according to initial reports. The suspect was identified, detained, and charged with malicious wounding, a felony.
The same intersection turned up in the crime report last week, when a man was charged with reckless handling of a firearm after police say he accidentally fired through a car windshield there.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2026-09010197, Columbia Pike at S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 10:05 p.m. on September 1, a patrol officer was flagged down for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was sitting in the area when the male suspect, who is known to him, approached him and allegedly assaulted him, causing serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and detained. [The suspect], 25, of No Fixed Address, was arrested, and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
