Woman arrested after nearly nude home break-in

A 31-year-old Arlington woman is behind bars after an unusual home break-in in the Cherrydale neighborhood last night.

Police received a 911 call just before 11 p.m. for a report of a woman wearing nothing but a bra and underwear shattering the back door of a house and going to its top floor. A man inside the home saw the woman expose herself, police said. Responding officers were told that he was sheltering inside with his wife and child.

Arlington County officers rushed to the scene, found evidence of a break-in, and then located and apprehended a suspect. The home’s occupants were not hurt.

The male victim subsequently observed the suspect inside the home exposing herself before she ran to another room. The victim called police and responding officers located the suspect inside the home and took her into custody. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect was wanted by ACPD and the Arlington County Fire Marshal’s Office. [The suspect], 31, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Burglary, Missile Into an Occupied Dwelling, Destruction of Property and Indecent Exposure and was served with the outstanding warrants. She was held without bond.

The same suspect was arrested in January in Bluemont after police say she spat on a woman and then spat on two officers while in custody, according to an earlier crime report. Today’s crime report notes that she was wanted by both the police department and the Arlington County Fire Marshal’s Office.

An ACFD spokesman said the suspect was wanted for “false summonsing of fire/EMS.” The spokesman declined further comment, citing an ongoing investigation.
