It’s now easier and more secure to send tips to ARLnow.
We’ve launched a new tip form on our About and Contact pages, as well as on the forthcoming updated version of our mobile app on iOS and Android.
The new form also includes an option for attaching photos and video to your tips, with much higher file size limits, allowing witnesses to news events to quickly send us multimedia from the scene without fumbling around with Google Drive or similar services.
This is just one of the newsroom tools that we’ve been working to improve for ARLnow and our sister sites. We’ve also been working to improve the transcription accuracy of our public safety radio monitor and broaden the set of local outlets across the region whose reporting we monitor and link to.
ARLnow has sought to make our internal tools available in various ways for readers. For instance, our neighborhood map tool is publicly available online, a curated version of our scanner feed is available in our mobile app, and we’re planning to add a regional feed (similar to our WSHnow site) to the next version of the app.
