Crime Report: Lots of Larcenies from Auto

It was an especially busy week for thieves in Arlington County. At least 32 cars were broken into in the past seven days, according to the latest Arlington County crime report.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/06/11, 3200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On January 6 between 8 pm an 9 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least four vehicles in the same area. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/08/11, 1000 block of Arlington Boulevard. Between 8 pm on January 7, and 6 am on January 8, an unknown subject broke into at least seven vehicles in the same area. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/08/11, 800 block of N. McKinley Street. Between 11 pm on January 7, and noon on January 8, an unknown subject broke into at least three vehicles on the block. Various tools were stolen. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/08/11, 200 block of N. Granada Street and the 300 block of N. Edison Street. Between 10:30 pm on January 7, and 10 am on January 8, an unknown subject entered at least four unlocked vehicles in the same area. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/10/11, 5200 blocks of S. 10th Place and S. 11th Street, and the 1000 block of S. Edison Street. On January 10 between midnight and 7 am, an unknown subject broke into at least ten vehicles in the same area. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/11/11, 4900 block of Chesterfield Road. On January 11 between 3 pm and 5:30 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two vehicles in the same parking lot. Various items were stolen. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/11/11, 1400 block of N. Quincy Street. On January 11 between 8 pm and 10 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two vehicles in the same area. Various items were stolen. There is no suspect description.

BRANDISHING-ARREST 01/09/11, 4800 block of Washington Boulevard. On January 9 at 5 am, a man brandished a gun at a tow truck driver because he thought his car was being towed. Philip Rickey, 76, of Arlington, was charged with Brandishing and released on a summons.

ROBBERY 01/08/11, 1400 block of Key Boulevard. On January 8 at 8 pm, three unknown men approached a man walking out of his apartment building. They assaulted him and stole his keys a wallet. The suspects were all African American males wearing dark clothing and masks.

ROBBERY 01/08/11, 2800 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On January 8 at 8:10 pm, three unknown men approached a woman walking in a parking garage. They threatened the victim and took items from her purse before fleeing. The suspects were all African American males wearing dark clothing and stockings over their faces.

ATTEMPT ROBBERY-ARREST 01/06/11, 3200 block of Washington Boulevard. On January 6 at 11:50 am, a juvenile male and female entered a business and the male displayed a knife to the clerk. The clerk yelled and the suspects fled. The clerk chased them. Police located both suspects and they were taken into custody for Attempted Robbery.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 01/11/11, 1600 block of N. George Mason Drive. On January 11 at 9 pm, a patient became disorderly and bit a hospital worker on the hand.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 01/11/11, 3000 block of Wilson Boulevard. On January 8 at 2 am, a man was assaulted outside a bar by an unknown subject. The suspect was a white male, 6’2″, 230 lbs wearing a brown sweater and jeans.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY 01/11/11, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On January 11 at 10:30 am, a subject attempted to shoplift and item at a pharmacy. The suspect assaulted the store employee when confronted. The suspect was an African American male with a dark complexion, 5’9″ and 160 lbs. He was wearing a brown hat, black jacket and jeans.

EXPOSURE 01/08/11, 5800 block of N. 9th Street. On January 8 at 2 pm, a woman witnessed an unknown male standing at the edge of the bike trail in Bon Air Park, exposing himself. The suspect had covered his face with a red bandana.

BURGLARY 01/07/11, 2700 block of S. Quincy Street. Between 10:30 pm on January 6, and 5:30 am on January 7, an unknown person stole electronics from an apartment. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY 01/07/11, 400 block of S. George Mason Drive. On January 7 between 2:30 pm and 8:30 pm, a suspect stole tools from a garage.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY-ARREST 01/09/11, 1300 block of N. Troy Street. On January 9 at 4:20 am, an intoxicated male walked into an apartment and started disrobing. He fled when confronted by the resident. Spencer Joynt, 18, of Washington D.C., was charged with Unlawful Entry. He was held on $1,000 bond.

LATE BURGLARY 01/05/11, 5900 block of Wilson Boulevard. Between November 26 and January 3, an unknown subject took jewelry from an apartment. There are no known suspects.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 01/08/11, 3600 block of N. Harrison Street. On January 7 at 6:30 pm, an unknown male attempted to enter a house through a rear door.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 01/06/11, Third District. On January 6 between 9:30 pm and midnight, a group of unknown subjects vandalized at least twenty-two cars in the Third District. There is no suspect description.
