Arlington Pet of the Week: Otis

This week’s Arlington Pet of the Week is Otis, a pug in Clarendon who isn’t particularly fond of other dogs but does love a good swim.

Here’s what his owner, Melissa, had to say:

Otis is a sweet, stately, seven-year-old pug gentleman rescued from Hagerstown, Md. He and his little pug sister, Tater Tots, live in Clarendon and are frequent visitors to the James Hunter Dog Park.

Otis prefers to tinkle on every wall, tree, and ParkMobile pay station under the sun rather than socialize with other dogs at the park, but always enjoys friendly scritches and “AWWW!”s from gaggles of Clarendonites who catch him and his sister out on their nightly walk on the town.

Otis, unlike most snorting, potato-shaped dogs, LOVES to swim! He bounds around in creeks, streams, rivers, and the occasional large brown dog park puddle. Otis has one favorite toy: a small squeaky tennis ball (as normal sized tennis balls are too big for his miniature maw) and loves to snuggle with his mama. Catch the continued adventures of Otis and Tater Tots on their instagram @cannedstarfish and see you at the park!
