Police are conducting a death investigation in Pentagon City after a body was found.
According to initial dispatches around 11:30 a.m., an employee of a business found the deceased person in a somewhat hidden spot along 12th Street S. near S. Fern Street. The circumstances around the person’s death are unclear.
A resident of a nearby residential building noted that police set up tents around the body.
“Very large police presence with sidewalk closed and obscured near wall of Costco,” the resident told ARLnow.
Officers closed 12th Street S. during the investigation but it has since reopened, according to scanner traffic. Arlington County police described the incident as a “non-suspicious death.”
