Ambar in Clarendon has a frosty new look — and libations — for the holiday season.
The Balkan restaurant at 2901 Wilson Blvd recently unveiled a winter drink menu and a cozy, chalet-inspired interior on its lower level.
The first floor has transformed into a “Winter Wonderland” with Christmas trees, frosted pine cones, ornaments and an evergreen-covered ceiling.
“It is pretty popular, especially on the weekends,” a floor manager told ARLnow. “It looks nice. It looks like you’re on your patio after a nice winter snow.”
The 2,400-square-foot dining room has space for up to 50 guests, in addition to a five-seat bar, and is currently available to book for private events.
Accompanying the new design are four seasonal drinks: A Balkan hot toddy, a smoked side car, a chocolatey marshmallow martini and a Cafe Zagreb, which combines cold brew, coffee liqueur and vodka.
The drinks are priced between $14 and $15 each.
Ambar’s wintery dining room theme is here to stay until Jan. 31, according to a press release.
The restaurant — which offers small-plate Balkan cuisine as well as unlimited brunch, lunch and dinner menus — worked with Bee Inspired Events, a D.C.-based florist studio, to create the snowy scene.
This is the first time the restaurant, which opened in 2016, has hired a company to assist with themed holiday decorations.
