Police are investigating two separate reports of someone shooting projectiles at Arlington Transit buses on S. Glebe Road.
Neither bus had any passengers and no one was injured, but both ART buses sustained damage to their windows, according to preliminary incident reports from the Arlington County Police Department.
It’s believed that someone was shooting a BB gun, authorities say.
The first incident took place around 9:01 p.m. on Saturday, but police weren’t notified until yesterday (Tuesday) morning. It happened at S. Glebe Road and S. Hill Street, near the county’s Water Pollution Control Plant.
At approximately 10:08 a.m. on July 15, police were dispatched to the late report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 9:01 p.m. on July 12, the driver of an Arlington Transit bus was traveling on S. Glebe Road when a window was struck with an unknown object, possibly a projectile from a bb gun, causing it to shatter. The driver was not injured. There were no other occupants inside the bus at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
