Arlington County police are looking for a trio of teens who allegedly stole from a toy store and struck a man who tried to intervene with their car.
The theft happened Saturday afternoon at Child’s Play Toys in the Lee Heights Shopping Center on Cherry Hill Road.
A tipster tells ARLnow that the suspects ran off with “two giant boxes of Legos” and were chased by a “hero Marine” who witnessed the theft. According to the latest ACPD crime report, the suspects struck the man with their car before driving off.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2025-11010170, 4500 block of Cherry Hill Road. At approximately 4:41 p.m. on November 1, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle crash with injury. Upon arrival, it was determined Suspects One and Two entered the business and collected merchandise. When an employee confronted them, the suspects exited the store without payment and entered a nearby vehicle driven by Suspect Three. A male victim who witnessed the incident ran after the suspects and was struck by the vehicle as they fled the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated and released by medics on scene. Suspect One is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens, approximately 5’8”. Suspect Two is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens, approximately 5’11”-6’0”. Suspect Three is described as an Asian male in his teens, approximately 5’3”, wearing a black shirt and khaki pants. The investigation is ongoing.
The getaway vehicle, a white Toyota Camry, was last seen going southbound on N. Glebe Road, according to scanner traffic, possibly with damage caused by the collision. The man was reported to be bleeding and suffering from bumps, bruises and cuts afterward.
Also in the crime report, police arrested a 25-year-old man after he was spotted “biking recklessly” in the Pentagon City area Sunday evening.
The suspect subsequently tried to flee on foot, then kicked an officer and damaged a police cruiser, according to ACPD.
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-11020125, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:06 p.m. on November 2, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, an officer observed the male suspect biking recklessly in the area and detained him. During the course of the investigation, the suspect attempted to flee from officers on foot, kicked an officer and a parked police cruiser, resulting in minor damage. No injuries were reported. [The suspect], 25, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Destruction of Property, Obstruction of Justice and Public Intoxication.
