Live jazz brunch launches at Oasis: The Listening Bar in Clarendon

A new option for weekend brunch in Clarendon comes with an audiophile twist.

Oasis: The Listening Bar has begun hosting live jazz music from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sundays at 2940 Clarendon Blvd, offering sweet and savory Japanese dishes and patio seating along with the tunes.

The restaurant made its debut last July, pairing sushi and other Japanese dishes with a vinyl-decorated interior designed for DJs and live music sets. It hosted its first jazz performance on Sunday with Alejandro Villarreal’s guitarist act on May 24.

Villarreal is slated to return for live performances on Sundays from 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. as part of the restaurant’s lineup.

“Oasis was born from the powerful idea that good music, great food, and warm friendship create something truly special,” co-founder Jaturon Srirote said in a press release. “While evening hours at Oasis offer a mood-lit, music-lover dining experience with dynamic late-night record sets, the daytime hours introduce a deliberate, welcoming contrast as a bright, airy, and entirely family-friendly neighborhood space.”

New brunch items include a truffle avocado toast and sashimi ($24), a smoked salmon crepe ($22), and steak frites made with a 12-ounce New York strip steak and kimchi aioli. There’s also a matcha cream crepe and mochi ($17) and Japanese take on chicken and waffles, the tori karraage and waffle ($18).

“Curated to reflect the venue’s distinctive culinary identity, the menu artfully balances classic Western morning staples with refined Japanese flavor profiles and techniques, bridging the gap between a casual morning hideaway and an elegant evening eatery,” Oasis said in a press release.

Guests can pair these dishes with libations like sparkling yuzu mimosas, espresso martinis, draft beers or omakase sake flights.

Oasis’ weekly live music sets include the following artists, according to the business’ website.

  • Mondays: Nam & Dew (acoustic duo) from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays: Vinyl Night (Japanese city pop) from 5-9:30 p.m.
