Someone smashed the windows of 14 vehicles in the Arlington Mill neighborhood early Tuesday — the second such spree in the area in recent days.
Officers found the damaged vehicles in the 5000 block of 7th Road S. around 1:45 a.m. on June 23, according to the Arlington County Police Department. The broken windows were all on the driver’s side, and police have no suspect descriptions.
The break-ins happened about a block from where someone broke the windows of nine vehicles in the 700 block of S. Florida Street, in neighboring Forest Glen, on Sunday. Windows were also smashed on 16 vehicles in Potomac Yard last month.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Series) (Late), 2026-06230013/2026-06230023, 5000 block of 7th Road S. At approximately 1:51 a.m. on June 23, police were dispatched to the late report of destruction of property. During the course of the investigation, officers located 14 vehicles with their driver’s side windows broken. The victim vehicles vary in make and model. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
Separately, a man armed with a gun was arrested after he was reported to be knocking on doors at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of 26th Court S. in Arna Valley last Thursday (June 18).
Complex employees told the man to leave, and he allegedly reached into his bag, according to ACPD. When an officer arrived, a man fitting the description ran off and ignored orders to stop.
An off-duty officer helped arrest him, and a gun was found in his bag, police said. He was charged with brandishing, carrying a concealed weapon, and other related crimes.
BRANDISHING, 2026-06180222, 2300 block of 26th Court S. At approximately 4:51 p.m. on June 18, police were dispatched to the report of a trespasser. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect was knocking on multiple doors in an apartment complex. Employees of the complex made contact with the suspect and advised him to leave the property during which he allegedly reached into his bag. The employees contacted police and upon arrival, a responding officer observed an individual matching the description of the suspect running from the area. The officer gave the suspect commands to stop which he ignored and continued running. With the assistance of an off-duty law enforcement officer, the suspect was taken into custody. During a search of the suspect’s bag, a firearm was recovered. [The suspect], 25, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Brandishing, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Foreign Alien, Trespassing and Obstruction of Justice.
