A 77-year-old woman who was critically injured in a house fire near East Falls Church earlier this month has died.
Deborah Boyd, who lived in the home, died of the injuries she suffered in the June 14 blaze, the Arlington County Fire Department said. The department confirmed her death yesterday (Tuesday), after her next of kin were notified.
Firefighters were called to the 6000 block of 25th Road N. around 5 p.m. that Sunday after a report that someone was trapped in the home, and found heavy fire when they arrived. Crews pulled Boyd from a first-floor bedroom window and took her to Virginia Hospital Center with life-threatening injuries.
No firefighters were hurt.
Fire marshals have since closed their investigation, with the cause undetermined, said an ACFD spokesperson.
