A new grocery store at a Langston Blvd shopping center has set an opening date in September.
Sprouts Farmers Market plans to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 25 at 3115 Langston Blvd, in the former home of a Giant supermarket that closed in March 2024, a spokesperson told ARLnow. The grocer has already begun hiring at the location, which was first announced in May 2025.
Some construction work appeared to be underway in the Lyon Village Shopping Center today (Monday). An application to sell beer and wine at the address remains pending.
Sprouts is a supermarket chain headquartered in Phoenix, operating more than 480 stores in 25 states. Specializing in “fresh, natural and organic food,” the brand promises “a carefully curated assortment of products that inspire wellness naturally.”
“We look forward to bringing our wide selection of fresh, local and better-for-you products to the community as we continue to grow in Virginia, joining existing stores in Herndon, Manassas, Leesburg and Haymarket,” the company previously told ARLnow.
The arrival of Sprouts will restore the anchor tenant for the shopping center, which is also home to The Italian Store, Big Wheels Bikes, a Cold Stone Creamery, a CVS and a Starbucks. Giant had previously operated out of the space for 60 years.
