A man is facing a string of assault charges after police say he attacked six people, including a sheriff’s deputy, in Virginia Square and Courthouse on Friday night.
The first incident happened around 10 p.m. at N. Quincy Street and Wilson Blvd, where police say the man hit two men and pepper sprayed one of them.
About an hour later, officers were called to a fight on the 2000 block of 14th Street N. in Courthouse. Police say an argument between two men outside turned physical, and a sheriff’s deputy who saw the fight was hit while trying to separate them.
Investigators later determined the same man had hit two other people at the scene before the fight, and that he matched the description of the suspect in the Virginia Square attack, according to police. Minor injuries were reported in both incidents.
The 25-year-old, who police listed as having no fixed address, was charged with assault on law enforcement, malicious wounding by caustic agent and five counts of assault and battery. He was held without bond.

ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT, 2026-09250166/2026-09260174/2026-09250229, N. Quincy Street at Wilson Boulevard/2000 block of 14th Street N./ 2000 block of 14th Street N. At approximately 11:01 p.m. on September 25, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and male suspect allegedly became involved in a verbal dispute outside that escalated to a physical altercation during which the suspect struck him. A responding sheriff’s deputy who observed the active fight was also struck when they attempted to separate the two parties. With the assistance of additional responding officers, the suspect was taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect struck two additional victims on scene prior to the altercation. Additionally, it was determined the suspect matched the description of an individual who an hour prior, struck two male victims in the area of N. Quincy Street and Wilson Boulevard as well as pepper sprayed one of the victims. Minor injuries were reported from the two incidents. [The suspect], 25, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged for both incidents with Assault on Law Enforcement, Malicious Wounding by Caustic Agent and Assault and Battery (x5). He was held without bond.
Separately, two young teens were taken into custody after police say a trio of boys robbed two other boys of their clothing inside a Pentagon City business on Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 4 p.m. on the 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. Police say one suspect assaulted one of the victims while a second took an item of his clothing, and the third took a clothing item from the other victim. Neither victim was hurt.
Officers found three boys fitting the suspects’ descriptions a short time later on the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street, near the Pentagon City Metro station. Two were caught, one after a brief foot chase, and the stolen clothing was recovered. Two officers and one of the teens had minor injuries.
Both teens face juvenile charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony, and one also faces an obstruction of justice charge, according to police. The third suspect wasn’t found and the investigation is ongoing.
In March, a boy was robbed of his shoes and backpack by a group of teens in Barcroft, one of whom displayed what appeared to be a gun.
ROBBERY, 2026-09270132, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 3:56 p.m. on September 27, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the two juvenile male victims were inside a business when the three juvenile male suspects in their early teens approached them. Suspect One allegedly assaulted Victim One and Suspect Two stole his clothing item while Suspect Three stole a clothing item from Victim Two. The victims did not sustain any injuries. The suspects then fled the scene on foot and a lookout was broadcast. A short time later, responding officers located three individuals matching the descriptions of the suspects in the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. Suspect One was taken into custody and following a brief foot pursuit, Suspect Two was also taken into custody. The stolen items were recovered from the suspects. Two officers and Suspect One sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. Petitions for Suspect One were obtained for Robbery (x2) and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Petitions for Suspect Two were obtained for Robbery (x2), Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and Obstruction of Justice. Suspect Three was not located and the investigation is ongoing.
Elsewhere, a man was arrested after police say he pulled a gun on another man outside on the 900 block of S. Dinwiddie Street in Arlington Mill early Saturday morning.
The suspect left in a white sedan around 1:15 a.m., but an officer spotted the car nearby and pulled it over, police said. Suspected drugs were also found. The 30-year-old Alexandria man was charged with brandishing and two counts of drug possession.
BRANDISHING, 2026-09260021, 900 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 1:16 a.m. on September 26, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was outside when the male suspect allegedly approached him, brandished a firearm at him and fled the scene in a white sedan. A lookout was broadcast and a responding officer located the vehicle traveling in the area and conducted a traffic stop with the assistance of additional responding officers. The suspect was determined the be an occupant of the vehicle and he was taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, suspected narcotics were recovered. [The suspect], 30, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Brandishing and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance (x2).
