Courthaus Social is adding to its space and its offerings, aiming to be an all-day spot for food and drink.

Best known for its outdoor beer garden, the restaurant at 2300 Clarendon Blvd in Courthouse is expanding with the opening of “The Courtroom.”

The plaza in front of George Mason University’s Virginia Square campus has a refreshed look and a fresh set of events for spring.

Mason Square Plaza was redesigned to “better support a range of activities and increase engagement.” The open space has an assortment of new amenities including an art cart, ping pong tables, mini golf, chess, and a few other activities.

A senior at Washington-Liberty High School has been awarded as a “2024 Military Child of the Year.”

Taylor Walsh, the daughter of a Space Force colonel and an Air Force veteran, has been recognized for her resiliency. Operation Homefront, a nonprofit that supports military families, said that despite the frequent deployments, family separations and other hardships of being in a military family, Walsh continues to excel.

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just for the Irish at one local watering hole.

On Saturday, Quincy Hall at 4001 Fairfax Drive will hold its first “St. Paw-trick’s Day” adoption event with Arlington-based nonprofit Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and some adoptable furry friends from 3-5 p.m.

This past weekend was spring forward for time. This week as been spring open for cherry blossoms.

Thanks to warm and sunny weather, tree blossoms have been opening at a rapid clip, and that includes those on Arlington’s cherry blossom trees.

Clarendon’s newest comedy venue is in the basement of a Balkan restaurant.

Starting next Thursday, the speakeasy-style bar underneath Ambar, called BABA, will host free bi-weekly comedy shows.

Greenheart Juice Shop is now open in Courthouse.

The shop held a grand opening Saturday for its new location in the former Rāko Coffee space at 2016 Wilson Blvd. It is the second Greenheart location in Arlington after an outpost opened in Ballston last year.

This weekend the Arlington County Police Department is reminding motorists of the dangers of drunk driving.

The police department will host “Don’t Press Your Luck,” an anti-drunk-driving event that will highlight the impacts of alcohol when behind the wheel, this Saturday from 8-10 p.m. at the intersection of N. Irving Street at Wilson Blvd.

The Pentagon City mall has something new on display — and it isn’t clothing.

More than 50 pieces of art, from paintings to drawings and sculptures to mixed media, from 35 members of the Arlington Artists Alliance, are encased behind glass inside the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.
