Arlington County paramedics were called to the station around 1:30 this afternoon, to treat the suspect after the pepper spray incident.

According to Metro spokesman Dan Stessel, then man had “rammed” the Crystal City station manager while attempting to run through the emergency gate to evade the transit fare. Metro Transit Police officers responded to the station and found the man sitting on the floor in the station entrance area, smoking a cigarette.

The incident happened at GMU’s Arlington campus, near Virginia Square, around 3:00 p.m. Police say the man entered the classroom and attempted to place the professor under a citizen’s arrest. The professor tried to get the man — described as a white male in his 20s or 30s — to leave, at which time the man pepper sprayed him and a scuffle ensued, according to Arlington County Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck.

The professor did not know the man, Sternbeck said.

Arlington County Police are looking for two women suspected of stealing cosmetics from a CVS store and pepper spraying two employees who tried to stop them.

The alleged robbery took place at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, at the CVS Pharmacy at 256 N. Glebe Road in Buckingham. This afternoon, police released surveillance images from the store in an effort to solicit the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

A Victoria’s Secret clerk was attacked with pepper spray when she tried to stop a man and a woman from stealing lingerie, according to this week’s Arlington County crime report. The incident happened last Thursday at the Victoria’s Secret store in Ballston Common Mall.

ROBBERY 04/07/11, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On April 7 at 2:20 pm, two people stole items from a lingerie store. When a clerk attempted to stop them, one suspect sprayed a caustic substance at the victim. One suspect was an African American male in his 20’s, dressed as a woman. He was wearing a gray sweater, black pants and carried a Louis Vuitton purse. The second suspect was an African American female, 5’2″ and 185 lbs. She was wearing black pants and carried a zebra print purse.
