Bacon Week Starts at 3 Restaurant

A bacon martini. Maple bacon ice cream. Bacon on a stick. Pork wrapped in bacon.

Today is the beginning of Bacon Week at 3 Restaurant in Clarendon, and the eatery has a ramped up the creativity to generate a three-course bacon menu. There’s also a bacon happy hour from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and a bacon-making class at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The restaurant’s affinity for all things bacon has even earned it a segment on an upcoming Travel Channel special called “Bacon Paradise.”

Bacon Week runs through Oct. 21.

Despite thinking it’s a great restaurant, it’s been awhile since I visited “3″. Bacon Week sounds like a perfect reason to go back!

I prefer Toscana Grill’s vegan weekends to 3′s flesh-filled week. Just knowing about this “event” will keep me from ever checking this restaurant out. Gross.

Now, I’m all for bacon. It’s delicious and goes great with a lot of things. There is a line that has been crossed here. This goes from tasty, to tastless, to typical American stereotype. Keep it classy, gents!

Can we get them to cater for the ground zero mosque? How about for the Hajj? Bacon can win the war on terror just by its amazing flavor.

RC, yes, factory farming is horrible but there is awesome organic and/or local bacon out there. Not sure what the restaurant uses but we only use the non-factory farmed stuff in our house.

  I know 3 had been getting pork products from a local, free-range farm (http://forestfed.com/). If they still do, they should advertise that fact more. The Duroc/Tamworth cross pigs are really cute. The farmer used to be at the Clarendon farmer’s market selling those cuts that the restaurants didn’t buy.

I went to this. 3 course menu. Food was OK, they did not really pull out all the stops for bacon. It is like they took a menu item and just added bacon to it. Service was not very good either. Probably not going to go back for their regular menu either.
