Police Identify Arrested Bank Robbery Suspect

Arlington County Police have released the identity of the man arrested yesterday following a bank robbery in Clarendon.

Police say 23-year-old Rafi Khan of Arlington has been charged with two counts of bank robbery — one for yesterday’s robbery of the PNC Bank at 2601 Clarendon Blvd and one for last week’s robbery of a Bank of America at 3401 Columbia Pike.

“The investigation is ongoing, and other charges may be pending,” police said.

According to public records, Khan’s listed address is a $500,000 home on S. Fillmore Street in Penrose. Khan is currently being held in the Arlington County Detention Center.

  The situation is unfortunate, but it’s also hard to have sympathy for someone who’s alleged to have done this repeatedly.

    While I feel sympathy for such a young man, I’m also glad that Arlington County police caught him before he had a chance to hurt someone. He needs to be off the streets. The police did a very good job in this case and I thank them.

Good Job ACPD. I said a lot of mean things about ACPD yesterday on the original bank robbery story. I see now that the police in Arlington actually arrest bad people. Also, I know nothing about law enforcement or policing in general and write from a completely uninformed perspective. I apologize to the men and woman of ACPD who actually try and do a good job despite constant critism from the people who write on this site.

From a search of the civil court records, Capital One has a case against Rafi. He owes them about $1000.

I taught 3 of the siblings including Rafi and I feel for the parents who I have met. To travel the globe to have a child or children of yours to not understand the sacrifices they have made to provide a better opportunity for them….Disappointing and the police are to be commended. Damn…
