Weekend Snow Possibility

Not to jinx it, but there’s a decent chance we could be seeing a significant accumulating snowfall at some point in the five days.

According to our friends over at the Capital Weather Gang, Thursday could bring an inch or two, while Sunday could bring “a crippling East Coast snowstorm.” The chance of each happening is still well below 50 percent, but it’s never too early to freak out and start coming up with creative names like we did last year, right?

While you’re at it, be sure to check out the county’s recently-updated snow and ice web portal.

    Jinx it please.

    Get the snowblowers ready!

  • TGEoA

Snow everyday at Kitty O Sheas

  • NorthAdams

where is my county paid-for snowblower? i want it now!!

  • Andrew

Wonder what the hot item will be for shoppers this year? Wasn’t toilet paper the must have for snowmageddon?

    • PikeHoo

I wonder if Zombies hate snow too?

  • mehoo

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Precipitation from the skyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Paniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic!

    • SoArlRes

It’s precipitation from the ground I worry about.

  • NorthAdams

i hear it is only going to snow in south arlington. zimmie arranged it. nothing looks better than a fresh coating of snow. btw, who is going to plow the streetcar tracks and make sure they don’t get yanked up like our speed bumps do.

    • SoArlRes

      Trolley plow. Ding ding!

        • NorthAdams

cool. although i’d be concerned that the trolley stops, just like my bus stop, will get buried in the snow… but at least the streetcar-way is clear!!

          • PikeHoo

How many bus stop avalanches have you survived?

          • Hate The Trolley

The ice storm will just freeze up and take down the ugly overhead lines.

          • PikeHoo

HTT – The ice storm? It sounds like you can predict weather and destructive events. I suppose you can predict cards too. Let’s dump our jobs, head out to Vegas, and bring the whole place down.

    • mehoo

Thanks to the Zimmer for installing those gold-plated underground heaters on every street in North Arlington so the snow won’t stick, and the special freezer units on Arlington Blvd. to keep the South Arlington riffraff from patronizing our Starbucks during the storm.

      • KalashniKEV

I wish he did… but unfortunately he only uses his power for evil.

  • SA Resident

Maybe to balance the budget woes, they could eliminate useless spending like parks, human services and schools and put more money into Arlington Alert who could send us even more messages warning about wind, rain and possible snow outside.

Any bets on when the stores run out of bread and milk?

    • PikeHoo

      You almost forgot beer.

  • jill

Get ready in any case for the pleasure of reading a good book or getting back to that craft project or handmade Cristmas present. For me it is also time to take a moment to think of the people I see walking in a sweatshirt on an obviously cold day so I put a coat I have outgrown in the car to offer them and be someone’s angel for just a moment so they can be warmer for the next few months. I have had such angels in my life and what goes round comes round.

    • PikeHoo

      +1 for Xmas spirit

      • Notahoo

+2 for “jill” looking very cool as a handle.

  • French Toast is Yummy

Everyone quick, get in your cars and drive a half mile to Whole Foods for MILK, BREAD, and EGGS! Is everyone inside making FRENCH TOAST during snowstorms? And break out the plastic kiddy pool to reserve your street parking spot that you just busted your ass for 45 minutes to dig out!

I’m coining the word “Snowtastrophe”. Bring it!

    • Mike

Too late. I already copyrighted it

      • mehoo

        How about “snowmygod-it’s-just-snow-stop-freaking-out-you-whiny-spoiled-losers?”

  • AZZI9

Nine months and 4 days from now how many new babies will there be in Arlington?

    • mehoo

The same as there always are. People have sex without snow too.
