In this week’s Arlington County crime report, there were a couple of instances of food and food utensils being used as a weapon.
Last Thursday, in the Pentagon City area, a woman threw a piece of fruit at the clerk.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 08/04/11, 1500 block of S. Fern Street. On August 4 at 3 pm, a woman threw a piece of fruit at a convenience store clerk, striking him in the face. The suspect is an African American female, 5’4″ and 130 lbs. She was wearing a blue sweatshirt and khaki pants.
Last Tuesday, a restaurant manager in Rosslyn allegedly attacked an employee with a knife.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 08/05/11, 1100 block Wilson Boulevard. On August 2 at 1 pm, a restaurant manager assaulted an employee with a knife. Youssef Elkhayir, 41, of Falls Church, was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond.

SEXUAL BATTERY, 08/04/11, 1300 block of S. Highland Street. On August 4 at 4:20 pm, a 16 year-old female was walking when an unknown male passed her. He turned around to walk the other way and grabbed her breasts. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30’s, 5’7″ and 180s lbs. with black hair. He was wearing a black polo shirt, dark khaki shorts, white and gray sneakers and black reflective sunglasses.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 08/09/11, 4300 block of Columbia Pike. On August 9 at noon, an unknown subject grabbed a 19-year-old female lifeguard from behind. He grabbed her breasts and then fled. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, 5’2″ and 120s lbs. with black hair and an olive complexion.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 08/04/11, 3800 block of Four Mile Run Drive. On August 4 at 12:30 am, a taxi cab driver was dropping off two unknown males when they assaulted him and tried to take his GPS. The suspects were both African American males. One suspect was in his early 20’s, 6’2″, 190 lbs and wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and carrying a black backpack. The second suspect was around 18 years old, 5’2″, 140 lbs and wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a black backpack.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 08/04/11, 200 block N. Thomas Street. On August 4 at 12:50 am, a woman cut another woman on the face with a knife. Nicole Allen-Fairfax, 20, of no fixed address, was charged with Malicious Wounding. She was held without bond.
BANK ROBBERY, 08/03/11, 3100 block of Washington Boulevard. On August 3 at 11 am, an unknown man entered a bank. He implied a weapon and demanded money. The suspect then fled with cash. He is described as a white male with facial hair, in his late 50’s, 6′ tall with a medium build. The suspect wore a white short-sleeve polo shirt with horizontal stripes, light colored pants and a dark colored baseball cap. This man appears to be the same suspect who robbed two BB&T Banks in Arlington during June 2011.
BANK ROBBERY, 08/04/11, 5500 block Lee Highway. On August 4 at 2:15 pm, an unknown man entered a bank. He announced a robbery and demanded money. The suspect then fled with cash. He is described as a white male with facial hair, in his late 50’s, 6′ tall with a medium build. The suspect wore a light colored baseball cap, neon green shirt and light colored pants. This man appears to be the same suspect who robbed three banks in Arlington this summer.
BANK ROBBERY, 08/09/11, 5300 block of Lee Highway. On August 9 at 2:10 pm, an unknown man entered a bank. He implied a weapon and demanded money. The suspect then fled with cash. He is described as a white male around 50 years old, 5’9″ tall with a thin build. The suspect wore a light colored “driving” cap, a dark colored striped polo shirt and light colored pants.
ROBBERY-ARREST, 08/07/11, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On August 7 at 6:50 pm, a woman was walking with her cell phone in her hand. A 17 year-old male ran by and forcibly removed it. Several witnesses chased the suspect and police apprehended him. The suspect will be charged.
ROBBERY, 08/07/11, 1900 block of N. George Mason Drive. On August 7 at 1:15 am, a man was walking home from work when two unknown males approached him. The suspects assaulted him a brandished a knife. They stole cash and fled. Both suspects were teenage African American males. One was 6’2″ with a skinny build wearing a black t-shirt and jeans. The other suspect was 5’8″ with a thin build and wore a gray t-shirt and jeans.
ATTEMPT ROBBERY-ARREST, 08/03/11, 1700 block of N. Quebec Street. On August 3 at 10 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. One subject fled from the car and a helicopter was utilized to try to locate him. Three suspects were detained and charged. Lamar Herbert, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with Attempted Robbery and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Michael Lewis, 23, of Mattapan, MA, was charged with Attempted Robbery and was wanted out of another jurisdiction. Emanuel Gebreyesus, 23, of Dumfries, was charged with Attempted Robbery. All three suspects were held without bond.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 08/09/11, 1000 block of S. Jefferson Street. On August 9 at 6 am, an unknown man assaulted another man walking on the sidewalk. The suspect is described as a white male in his 40’s, 6′ and 180 lbs. He was wearing a dark blue shirt and brown shorts.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 08/10/11, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On August 10 at 1:20 am, an intoxicated man assaulted security guard at a bar. Paul Salemme, 22, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was held on a $3,000 bond.
BURGLARY, 08/05/11, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard. On August 5 between noon and 12:20 pm, an unknown subject stole a laptop computer from an unlocked apartment. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 08/06/11, 900 block of Patrick Henry Drive. Between 7 am on July 30, and 4:15 pm on August 6, an unknown person forcibly entered a house and stole numerous items. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 08/08/11, 1300 block of S. Fair Street. Between 10:30 am on August 6 and 5 pm on August 7, an unknown subject stole items from an unlocked apartment. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 08/09/11, 1100 block of S. Monroe Street. On August 8 between 9 pm and 11 pm, an unknown subject entered an unlocked house and stole various items. There is no suspect description.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 08/05/11, 5400 block of N. Carlin Springs Road. Between 6 pm on August 4, and 11 am on August 5, an unknown subject broke into a snack bar and stole cash. There is no suspect description.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 08/08/11, 800 block of N. Glebe Road. On August 7 at 9 pm, three unknown African American subjects entered a construction site and stole copper wire.
