Avant Bard Needs New Theater — WSC Avant Bard has spent the past two years as the resident theater company at Artisphere, but now the performance group is looking for a new home. Avant Bard has not been operating under an official lease at Artisphere, and received the news last month that it needs to find a new space before its play season begins in May. The county now wants to use the stages at Artisphere for shorter running productions. Interesting photo from the Bluemont disc golf course. I wonder which hole that is? 7th or 8th perhaps?

That motorcyclist would be travelling outbound actually – unless I stumbled upon DCNOW by mistake.

According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling inbound — from Virginia to D.C.

      • pedant

That was my point – to DC would be outbound from our perspective.

How crapy is your “art” if even the Fartisphere kicks you to the curb.

Weren’t they the ones who put on a play in Klingon? That says it all right there….

      • JamesE

You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon.

Yeah, Nook, I bet your a regular there. There’s a real demand for rental of the black box and AB was getting a sweetheart rental deal (a percentage of ticket sales). They were blocking out huge swaths of the calendar and generating trivial revenue.

It will suck when you have to go back to school after Xmas vacation, huh Nook?

      • Mook

What really will suck when your unemployment runs out, or worse when you get fired for posting on ArlNow all day. Actually, that wouldn’t suck at all.
