
A new Uniqlo in Pentagon City is hosting its grand opening this week, offering free treats, merch and manga-style portraits to select customers.
The Japanese fast-fashion brand will open for business at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Friday) following a taiko drum performance by the Mark H Taiko Connection. This will kick off an opening weekend of limited-time offers and giveaways at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.
Through Sunday, Aug. 4, promotional offerings include:
- Free Uniqlo knot bags with Japanese treats inside for the first 100 customers in line each day
- A free mini fan for the first 100 customers to spend a minimum of $99 each day
- Free baked goods and ITO EN tea, for the first 250 customers who show up before 11:30 a.m. each day
Personalized manga-style portraits will also be created for registered Uniqlo app members who arrive between 3:30-5:30 p.m. each day through Sunday, the company said. Also from 1-3 p.m., the first 200 Uniqlo app members can get free treats from Del’s Lemonade.
Additionally, the first 250 customers who make an online order for pickup in Pentagon City between now Sunday, Aug. 11 will receive a free t-shirt.
Certain garments, like the brand’s premium linen shirts, will also be sold with exclusive promotions during the opening weekend.
Uniqlo isn’t the only store to open recently at the Pentagon City mall. Another international retailer, Spanish clothing store Mango, opened for business last week on the mall’s second level.
The Pentagon City Uniqlo is one of 11 brick-and-mortar stores the brand plans to open across the country in 2024. The brand’s expansion plan proposes 200 North American stores by 2027.
