The Liberty Tavern is closed as it undergoes maintenance on the floors and ceilings, among other repairs.
The Clarendon mainstay, open for 17 years, will reopen in about two weeks — around mid-September — after floors, ceiling tiles and bathroom surfaces are updated, co-owner Stephen Fedorchak told ARLnow.
“It’s mostly things addressing the age and the volume of the restaurant, which we feel eternally grateful for,” Fedorchak said.
The ownership opted to complete the work in a late summer sprint, as opposed to trying to stay open and stretch it out over a longer period of time.
“It feels unusual to have the place close for any length of time, and after only three days, we can’t wait to get back to business,” Fedorchak said.
In the meantime, Liberty Tavern’s sister restaurants Northside Social, Lyon Hall and The Falls are currently open.
