ACPD: Man beaten and seriously injured after late night honk

Three men beat and seriously injured a driver early Sunday morning in a fit of apparent road rage.

That’s according to the latest Arlington County police crime report. The beating allegedly happened after the victim honked his horn while at a stop sign in the Arlington Mill neighborhood, north of Columbia Pike.

The suspects fled the scene and remain at large, according to ACPD, while the victim was hospitalized with serious injuries after the attack.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 2024-09150025, S. Greenbrier Street at 8th Road S. At approximately 1:26 a.m. on September 15, police were dispatched to the report of trouble unknown. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his vehicle at a stop sign when he honked his horn. Three male suspects then exited a white truck and assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. There is no suspect descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.

Also in the latest crime report, police say a man broke into at least four parked cars in the Courthouse and Clarendon neighborhoods early Sunday.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (Series), 2024-09150010/2024-09150031/2024-09150036/2024-09150041, Wilson Boulevard at N. Adams Street/11th Street N. at N. Garfield Street/1000 block of N. Fillmore Street/2800 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 12:18 a.m. on September 15, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle tampering. It was determined during the early morning hours, the male suspect broke the windows of approximately four parked, unoccupied vehicles in the area and stole electronics, clothing and other personal items before fleeing the scene. The victim vehicles vary in make and model.
