Arlington County police had a busy morning of crashes and other vehicular issues today (Tuesday).
Around 8:30 a.m. police responded to a reported two-vehicle crash on N. Carlin Springs Road at N. Greenbrier Street, which left an SUV overturned on its roof and the northbound lanes of the roadway blocked during the morning commute.
At least one person was evaluated for injuries. The crash happened on a stretch of N. Carlin Springs Road about which the Arlington Forest and Bluemont communities have long expressed safety concerns.
The stretch — not to be confused with a problematic portion of S. Carlin Springs Road — is also set for a traffic study.
Elsewhere this morning, ACPD responded to a four-vehicle crash with no reported injuries at the intersection of S. Glebe Road and S. Walter Reed Drive, and a vehicle fire at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and N. Quincy Street. The latter, which blocked some lanes of Glebe, is said to have involved a Mercedes vehicle near the Mercedes dealership.
Shortly before publication, around 10:45 a.m., police also responded to a reported three-vehicle crash blocking lanes on S. Glebe Road and 26th Road S. And just before 11 a.m. an ACPD unit reported pulling over a wrong-way driver on Wilson Blvd and N. Veitch Street in Courthouse.
