Outdoor ice skating returns to Pentagon City for 2024-2025 season

Outdoor ice skating is back at the Westpost shopping center in Pentagon City.

The outdoor ice rink at 1201 S. Joyce Street announced yesterday that it has returned for the 2024-2025 season, offering lessons and public skating hours seven days a week. That’s despite predicted high temperatures in the 60s, 70s and — today — 80s over the next ten days.

The venue — which purports to be the largest outdoor ice rink in Northern Virginia — accepts walk-ups, but reservations to skate for up to two hours are recommended.

Skates may be rented for $6. Prices for skating sessions are listed below.

  • Age 13 and over: $11 for online reservations, $13 for walk-ups
  • Children age 12 and under: $10 for online reservations, $12 for walk-ups
  • Seniors: $10 for online reservations and walk-ups

The rink also offers weekend ice skating lessons for kids and adults, priced at $125 and $150 for five weeks, respectively.

The skating rink is open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays, from noon to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, from noon to 11 p.m. Fridays, and from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturdays.
